Winding over the Colorado National Monument from Grand Junction to Fruita, Colorado, the U.S. Bank Rim Rock Run boasts scenery unlike any other marathon. The peaceful course features views of towering monoliths, vast plateaus and canyon panoramas. Sheer-walled, red rock canyons surround the twists and turns of the course.
The race finishes in downtown Fruita’s Circle Park, at a celebration that includes live entertainment, local food and merchandise and a beer garden.
In addition to a marathon and marathon relay, the 2016 Rim Rock Run also features a brand-new, downhill half marathon, starting at the Colorado National Monument’s Highland View and winding into downtown Fruita, where racers can join in the post-run celebrations.
The Fruita 0.038 Marathon, a great race for families and spectators who want to join in on the fun, is also back this year. Entry for the 0.038 marathon is $10 and benefits Cavalcade, a non-profit community performing arts venue.
The cost of entry for the marathon, marathon relay and half marathon includes a registration fee and a $5 per runner fee for access to the Colorado National Monument. All runners will receive a custom finisher medal, a commemorative technical t-shirt, special offers, food at the finish line and more.
