Breathtaking Colorado National Monument

Join one of the most scenic marathons in the world. Winding over the Colorado National Monument (a unit of the national park system) from Grand Junction to Fruita, Colorado, this race boasts scenery like none other. Enjoy the peaceful course featuring views of towering monoliths, vast plateaus and canyon panoramas. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of the course.

New this year, the Colorado National Monument has permitted to allow for a downhill half marathon starting at the Highland View pull-off.

Proceeds from the U.S. Bank Rim Rock Marathon benefit Colorado Mesa University's Track & Field and Cross Country student athlete scholarships and the Greater Grand Junction Sports Commission.

Entry Fees

Entry fees for the full marathon and marathon relay are the same as 2015. Registration for the marathon, relay and half marathon incudes the registration fee, plus a $5 per runner fee for access to the Colorado National Monument. All runners will receive a custom finisher medal, a commemorative technical t-shirt, special offers, food at the finish line and more.

Bring back the 0.038! The Fruita 0.038 Marathon is $10 and benefits Cavalcade.

Please note: It is a privilege to conduct this race on National Park Service land at the Colorado National Monument. Hoever, it does result in some operational constraints. The course distances are as close to full and half distances as the course and logistics allow. The relate and half marathon may not be exactly 13.1. We understand this is important to runners had have made adjustments to get it as close as possible. Please do recognize these courses are not certified, however, so get out there and enjoy the scenery! Thank you.

Start Line Location

Marathon and Relay starts at the Grand Junction Gem & Mineral Club (2328 Monument Road, Grand Junction, CO 81507). Half Marathon start and Relay exchange point is at the Highland View, in the Colorado National Monument.

*The relay exchange point is different from last year.

Finish Line Location

The finish line will be located at Circle Park in downtown Fruita. Participants and spectators will also be able to enjoy local food and merchandise vendors at Circle Park.
